Store cement bags in a dry, raised and covered area, away from moisture. Use fresh, clean water and good quality sand and aggregates. Mix in recommended proportions as per structural design or engineer’s guidance. Prepare only required quantity at a time. Place concrete or mortar immediately after mixing and compact properly. Cure the structure with water for at least 7–14 days for best strength.

Chettinad Cement is highly suitable for house construction because it offers consistent strength, durability and excellent workability. Its OPC 53 and OPC 43 grades are ideal for foundations, beams and slabs, while PPC and Composite cement work well for masonry and plastering, giving smooth finishes and long-lasting, crack-resistant homes.

For roof slabs, Chettinad Cement OPC 53 grade is generally preferred because it develops higher early strength and provides strong, dense concrete. This helps resist loads, leakage and weathering. However, the final choice should follow your structural engineer’s mix design and local site conditions to ensure safety and durability.

Yes, Chettinad Cement is suitable for plastering, especially its PPC and Composite cement variants. They offer better workability, smoother application and reduced shrinkage cracks on walls and ceilings. Using proper sand grading, correct water ratio and adequate curing with chettinad cement ensures a uniform, durable and aesthetically pleasing plaster finish.

Chettinad Cement OPC (53 and 43 grades) provides faster strength gain and is ideal for structural elements like columns, beams and slabs. PPC contains pozzolanic material, offering better durability, lower heat of hydration and improved resistance to chemical attacks, making it suitable for masonry, plastering and long-life concrete structures.

Chettinad Cement should be stored in a dry, moisture-free room on raised wooden pallets, at least 150 mm above ground. Keep bags away from walls, stacked in a criss-cross pattern with limited height, and covered with plastic sheets. Use older bags first, ensuring cement remains fresh for maximum strength and performance.
