- Heat a pan and add a teaspoon of oil
- Add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and garlic. Saute until golden brown
- Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft
- Add pre-cooked lentils and water, simmer for 10-15 minutes
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or flatbread
