Prepare well-drained soil with compost or farmyard manure. Water the chilli seedlings before transplanting. Make small pits at proper spacing, gently place each seedling, cover roots with soil and press lightly. Water immediately after planting. Provide regular irrigation, weeding and recommended fertilizer for best growth.

To care for chilli seedlings (मिरची रोप), keep the soil slightly moist but never waterlogged, and place them in a sunny area with at least 5–6 hours of light. Protect from strong winds, pests and heavy rain. Use well-drained soil, apply light fertilizers as needed, and transplant when plants are strong.

The best time to plant chilli seedlings is when the weather is warm and there is no risk of frost, usually at the beginning of the summer or recommended local season. Soil temperature should be moderately warm, and the plants should have 4–6 true leaves before transplanting to the main field or garden.

Chilli seedlings generally take around 60–90 days from transplanting to start flowering and fruiting, depending on the variety and growing conditions. With proper care, sunlight, balanced fertilizers and regular irrigation, plants continue producing chillies for several months, giving a steady harvest for home or commercial use.

After transplanting chilli seedlings, water lightly immediately and then keep the soil consistently moist for the first 7–10 days to help root establishment. Avoid overwatering or standing water. Later, water when the top soil begins to dry, adjusting frequency according to weather, soil type and plant size.

For chilli plants grown from seedlings, start with well-rotted farmyard manure or compost mixed into the soil. After establishment, use a balanced NPK fertilizer in small, split doses. Increase phosphorus and potassium during flowering and fruiting. Always follow recommended doses to avoid burning roots and harming seedlings.
